Position: Sushi Helper
Company: Chubby Nori
Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time

Chubby Nori is looking for a reliable and hardworking Sushi Helper to support our sushi team with food preparation, station organization, cleaning, and daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with basic sushi preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing ingredients
• Prepare sushi rice, vegetables, sauces, garnishes, and other ingredients as directed
• Restock sushi station ingredients and supplies during service
• Keep sushi station, prep areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate food using FIFO standards
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
• Assist sushi chefs during busy service periods
• Wash utensils, containers, cutting boards, and equipment as needed
• Help receive, organize, and store deliveries
• Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties
• Perform other kitchen duties assigned by management

Requirements:

• Previous sushi, kitchen, or restaurant experience is preferred, but not required
• Basic knife skills are a plus
• Able to work quickly and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 30–50 lbs
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Weekend and holiday availability is preferred
